C.R.I. Self-Priming Jet pumps, pump casing and ejector unit are designed carefully to give the best possible hydraulic efficiency and suction lift characteristics. Sealing is by means of a bellows mechanical seal made of Carbon & Ceramic is fitted over the shaft, which is grounded to close tolerances. Most modern and highly sophisticated machinery and technology are employed in the manufacture of these pumps using quality raw materials, dynamically balanced impellers, seals and ball bearings to ensure long life. C.R.I. Self-Priming Jet pumps are powered by a totally enclosed fan cooled, A.C. Induction motor, suitable for continuous duty. Motor stator is made of low watt loss steel laminations assembled under pressure and rigidly locked in the frame. Dynamically balanced rotor ensures vibration and noise free operations. The varnish impregnated windings made of enameled copper wire offer excellent resistance. Shaft is made of quality steel, precision ground of sample size for transmitting the rated Horsepower. Construction of motor frames and usage of quality materials result in high performance and low temperature rise thereby increasing the life cycle of the motor. Thermal Over load Protector (motor protector) is incorporated in single - phase motors. Operating principle In all JT series pumps, ejector unit is provided in the pump casing by which the self-priming is achieved. Fill the pump casing with water before the pump is started for the first time until the air pockets are eliminated. When the pump is energized, part of the delivery produced by the centrifugal impeller goes into the delivery opening and part of the water is re-circulated through the ejector thereby generating vacuum to self-prime the pump. This process transfers the air from the suction to the delivery chamber and ultimately expelled through the delivery piping. The vacuum so caused helps the water to raise in the suction piping thus self-priming the pump. By virtue of the continuous operation of self-priming system, the operation of the pump is unaffected even if the fluid being pumped contains large amount of entrapped air. Specifications
The
location of the pump should be such that the pump is easily accessible for
regular inspection and it should be relatively free from dust, fumes and
moisture. These pumps should be installed in a covered ventilated area,
protected against the weather and it should not be installed in a tilted
position. Do not wrap the pump with air tight materials such as polythene sheet,
rubber sheet, canvas cloth etc., as condensation will form in tightly wrapped
motor and winding will burn out. Pump Operating Limitations
